Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

1. Deposits

A deposit is required to confirm your place on a Hurria Barria retreat. Deposits are non-refundable except in the case of a cancellation initiated by Hurria Barria (see Section 5). This is standard practice across the travel and retreat industry, as deposits are used to secure venue capacity, accommodation, and local logistics on your behalf well in advance of the retreat date.

2. Cancellations by the Participant

If you need to cancel your registration, the following schedule applies to the remaining balance you have paid beyond your deposit:

Time before retreat start dateRefund of amount paid beyond deposit
60 days or more90% refunded
30–59 days50% refunded
14–29 days25% refunded
Less than 14 days, or no-showNo refund

To cancel, notify us in writing at hello@hurriabarria.com. Your cancellation is effective as of the date we receive your written notice, not the date you intend to withdraw.

3. Transferring Your Spot

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person, subject to our approval, at no additional fee, provided you notify us at least 14 days before the retreat begins. The new participant must meet the same eligibility requirements described in our Terms & Conditions.

4. Rescheduling

If Hurria Barria offers a future date for the same or a similar program, participants who cancel more than 30 days before the original retreat date may apply the amount already paid, minus the non-refundable deposit, toward the new date instead of receiving a refund, subject to availability.

5. Cancellations by Hurria Barria

If Hurria Barria cancels a retreat for any reason, including insufficient enrollment, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control, participants will be offered, at their choice:

Hurria Barria is not responsible for reimbursing separately booked flights, visas, or travel arrangements made independently of our program.

6. Force Majeure

In the event a retreat must be postponed or cancelled due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including natural disasters, extreme weather, government travel restrictions, political unrest, pandemic-related restrictions, or venue unavailability due to such events — Hurria Barria will work in good faith to offer participants a transfer to a future date. Where a transfer is not possible, refunds will be issued net of costs already committed to venues, guides, and local partners on your behalf, which are not always recoverable by us.

7. Travel Insurance

Given the cancellation schedule above and the international nature of our retreats, we strongly recommend that all participants purchase travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, interruption, and medical emergencies. This is the most reliable way to protect yourself financially against the need to cancel for illness, family emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances.

8. How Refunds Are Processed

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer's processing times. Stripe's own processing fees on the original transaction are non-refundable.

9. Health-Related Cancellations

If you must cancel due to a documented medical reason (supported by a note from a physician), please contact us directly. We will consider requests for exceptions to the standard schedule on a case-by-case basis, though we cannot guarantee an exception will be granted, which is why travel insurance is strongly recommended.
